To deactivate your Instagram account, follow these steps:
1. Open the Instagram app or go to the Instagram website in your web browser.
2. Log in to the account you want to deactivate.
3. Navigate to your profile page by tapping on the profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen (app) or clicking on your profile picture (website).
4. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the screen (app) or next to your username (website).
5. On the app, scroll down and select "Settings" from the menu. On the website, click on "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
6. Choose "Account" from the settings menu.
7. Scroll down and select "Delete Account" (app) or "Temporarily disable my account" (website) from the options.
8. Follow the prompts and provide the necessary information if prompted.
9. Confirm your decision to deactivate your account.
Note: If you're using the Instagram website, you might be asked to provide a reason for deactivating your account before you can proceed.
After deactivating your Instagram account, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden from other users until you reactivate it by logging back in. Keep in mind that the deactivation process is reversible, but if you want to permanently delete your Instagram account, the steps are different.
